What We Believe

About the Bible:

We believe the Bible to be the Word of God. It should be the final authority and ultimate determining source in all areas of church function, government function, and family function. It should determine how we behave in all areas of morals, relationships, finances, conversation, thought, and belief. This church uses only the King James Version, and views all other English versions as corrupted text.

About God:

We believe that God is a holy and eternal being. He has all power and authority over all matters. He will be the final judge of all mankind. He is the Creator and Ruler of everything. We believe the utmost responsibility and purpose of any person, organization, or entity is to obey Him, please Him, and bring Him glory. We strive, to the best of our ability, to work towards the goal of pleasing God in our spirits and actions because He is worthy.

About Satan:

We believe that God created Satan as one of the angels in Heaven. In pride, he rebelled against God. The desire of Satan was to become like God. He was cast out of Heaven, and to this day he has the primary focus of opposing anything that is in the will and plan of God.

About Creation:

We believe that God created the earth, the heavens, and all that are in them in 6 literal days. We believe the Genesis account to be accurate, and reject any ideas of evolution.

About Sin:

We define sin as anything that a man does, says, thinks, or believes that is contrary to the will of God. Sin first entered the human race when Adam and Eve broke the single commandment that God had given them. Since then, according to Scripture, every human has been guilty of sin and deserving of eternal judgement.

About Jesus and His Atonement for Sin:

We believe that Jesus was the Son of God. He was born of a virgin without a human father. This allowed Him to have the holy nature of God rather than the sinful nature of Adam. He then proceeded to live a sinless life, and died a sacrificial death on the cross. His holy, and sinless blood is used to pay the sin debt of anyone who will trust it for the salvation of their soul.

About Salvation:

We believe that salvation is granted through the grace of God. It is received by placing ones faith in Jesus. A man must realize his sinful condition before God, acknowledge his deserved judgement, repent, and request the mercy of God through faith in the blood of Jesus.

About Repentance:

We believe that repentance is a change of heart and mind. It is not a change of life or action to gain salvation. It is understood that in some individuals this changing of mind will continue after a person is saved and could produce some visible changes. However, for salvation, repentance is a turning of ones heart and mind from whatever they were falsely believing about themselves and eternity, to the truth of what God says about it. We view defining repentance as “turning from your sin,” or “forsaking you sin,” to be first of all impossible for the natural man, and secondly an addition of works to salvation when God’s Word clearly states that salvation is “not of works.”

About Eternal Life:

We believe that once a person calls on the grace of God through faith in Jesus’ blood he is saved and granted eternal life. That guarantees that he will spend eternity in Heaven upon his death. We reject any ideas that certain things that a man does can cause him to lose his salvation. We are saved by the grace of God and not by our own works, therefore we are preserved or kept saved by the same grace, without our works. We should certainly work for God, but not in hopes of getting saved or staying saved.

About the Return of Christ:

We believe that at some point in the future, only known by God the Father, Jesus will return to rapture the saved out of this earth. At this point what is known as the tribulation will begin. The saved believer’s relationship with God will go from a faith based, spiritual relationship, to a tangible in person relationship. Those unsaved and left behind will eventually face the wrath of God and eternal judgement.

About Heaven and Hell:

We believe that Heaven and Hell are both literal places. Heaven is a place of eternal safety, fellowship, and worship in the presence of God Himself. Only those that have been saved by grace through faith in the blood of Jesus will make it there from earth. Hell on the other hand is a place of eternal misery and judgement for those who reject Jesus, and what God says about Him. It is not a place of annihilation where the unbeliever ceases to exist, but rather a place that anyone who does not call on Jesus for salvation will face eternal torment and suffering.

About the Church:

We believe that the church is a local group of believers in Christ. Its purpose is to bring glory to God. Its primary ways to do so are to praise Him, pray to Him, and to study and obey His Word. Furthermore, to tell others that Jesus died for them and try through word and testimony to lead others to Him.

About Reaching the Lost:

We believe that it is the duty of every believer to tell others about Jesus. Jesus Christ and the blood that He shed for us is truly the only hope for the people around us. If they do not come to faith in Him there eternity is bleak. If we do not tell them, who will?
