How To Get To Heaven

Salvation

Where will you spend eternity?

Has anyone ever shown you from the Bible how you can know for sure you are going to Heaven?

We have all sinned.

Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”.

“Sin” is when we act against God’s commandments.

We must acknoledge our sins and realize that the sins that I have committed separate me from God.

There are consequences for sin.

Romans 6:23 says, For the wages of sin is death

The “wage” or payment for our sin is spiritual death. That means we deserve to die and be seperated from God forever.

Revelation 20:15 says, And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

We cannot be saved through any effort of ourselves.

There are no works that we can do to earn our salvation.

No amount of good that we do will get us to heaven.

The Bible teaches in Ephesians 2:9 that it is, “Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

We have eternal life through Jesus!

Romans 5:8 says, God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

God loved us and sent His sinless Son to die on the cross for us. Through the shed blood of Christ on the cross, He took the penalty that we deserved for sin, placed it upon Himself, and died in our place.

Three days after Christ died, Jesus came back to life to prove that sin and death had been conquered.

2 Corinthians 5:21 says, For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Acts 20:21 tells us Paul taught publicly, “repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”

To repent, we change our viewpoint of ourselves to the way God sees us; as undeserving sinners, and acknowledge that we can’t do anything to help our sinful condition before God. We change our heart and mind from our own efforts and attempts to make peace with God, to receiving the Sacrifice God provided for us through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:8 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith;”

We are delivered from sin’s penalty through faith. Faith means trust. You must trust Jesus alone to forgive you and give you eternal life.

Romans 10:9 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10:13 says, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Are you ready to trust Christ?

If so, you can tell him. It is trusting Christ that saves you. Prayer is simply how you tell God what you are doing.

Pray from your heart something like this:

“Dear God,

I know I am a sinner. I know my sins deserve to be punished. I believe Christ died for me and rose from the grave. Right now I turn to Jesus Christ alone to be my Savior. I ask you to save me from the penalty of my sin. Thank you for Your forgiveness and the everlasting life I now have. Amen.”

If you have believed on Jesus as your Savior, the Bible teaches that you have “everlasting life.” It is life that lasts forever; you can not lose the gift of everlasting life that God has given you.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
